Women’s Ministry Director: Jamie Pipher
Jamie serves as the Women’s Ministry Director at Heartland. She is married to Zeke and has three kids – Kate, Aidan, and Claire. Jamie has attended Heartland since 2005 when she was a young wife and mom. Now she has a house full of teenagers and more than a few gray hairs. The seasons of a woman’s life change quickly (even when some of those days with young kids seem to last forever). Jamie believes that the local church is the most ideal place to equip women of all ages to find what it means to live in submission to Jesus and to learn to serve each other.
Office Team Leader & Facilities Director: Melody Merchant
Melody has worked at Heartland since the fall of 2014. She has served in various capacities including Children’s Ministry Director, Worship Team Coordinator, and office communication. Her favorite thing about working at Heartland is having a front row seat to our body loving and serving each other in such unique and heartfelt ways. Melody and her husband Caleb have been married since 2002. They have four children: Ethan, Kylie, Julia, and Ava. In her free time she enjoys walks down country roads, a good book by a fire, and time with her family.
Interim Children’s Ministiry Coordinator: Amy Bailey
Amy is the Interim Children’s Ministry Coordinator. She and her husband, Dan, have been attending Heartland for 18 years. As a mom with six children (and a “Mimi” of three grandchildren), Amy understands the joys and struggles of the many stages of parenthood. So, if you ever happen to show up to church five minutes late, with your shirt inside out, and your children still in pj’s (not at all taken from her personal life experience), Amy will be right there to cheer you on. She believes in the importance of being able to attend a church that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children, with compassionate volunteers, who are equipped to share the love of Jesus with little ones. Amy feels blessed to be able to help facilitate an environment where parents are able to have time apart from their kids in order to hear the Word and peacefully fellowship with the body of Christ. On her days off, you can find Amy spending time with her friends and family or reading in a comfy chair with a warm blankie.
Administrative Assistant: Marsha Johnson
Marsha counts it a privilege to be part of the office staff at Heartland. She mostly works under Pastor JJ keeping track of all the details of the finances for the church. She also helps with the communications part of the office responsibilities. She greatly enjoys anything that involves being outdoors – being with grandkids, gardening, yardwork, or just reading in the sun. She also enjoys knitting and sewing. At any given moment, she has several “projects” in the works. She loves what she sees God doing in our body of believers at Heartland.
AWANA Coordinator: Drew Schreiber
Drew has been serving as Awana Director at Heartland since 2016. His involvement with Awana started as a young child while attending Awana clubs. As he grew out of being a clubber, he returned to Awana by serving in various roles in Central City and Omaha clubs. Drew said that his desire in working with Awana is to “reach children in our community with the message of Jesus Christ.” Drew has over 10 years experience in working with youth and more than 20 years of walking in faith with Christ.
Drew and his wife Lydia are parents to four boys Riley, Tucker, Mason and Oakley. As a family, they enjoy spending time together, going on walks and rooting on the Huskers.
Facility Care and Productions: Paul Beyer
Paul wants to live in a world filled with Pepsi fountains, endless chocolate covered peanut butter cups and a lot fewer vegetables. His life’s ambition is to grow a beard like Pastor JJ.
With his history in law enforcement and his current job, Paul has been blessed to realize his passion for helping people. He has seen people at their best and at their worst and that has helped him develop a deep compassion for God’s people. God has also led Paul through some difficult life experiences, which have led him closer to the Lord and given him a desire to share God’s love and comfort with others. Paul and his wife of 20 years, Julie, have four kids: Jaeden, Makenna, Lawrence, and Annslee.
When he’s not fixing things or helping people find their dream homes, you can find him taking and editing photos and videos. He will also probably be watching his favorite videographer on YouTube….again. 🙂
As a staff member at Heartland, Paul is excited to combine together his passions for God’s people and technology.
