Heartland Kids
Do you find joy in helping children learn to know and love Jesus? We are always in need of volunteers who are willing to serve our youngest attenders and their parents. All Heartland Kids volunteers must pass a background check, be approved by pastors, and regularly attend training. We also encourage all volunteers to prioritize attending Sunday morning service each week.
Kids Check-In Host

Minimum Commitment Level: Once per month
Nursery (Infants & Toddlers)
Overview: Our nursery volunteers are friendly and calm. They will greet children and parents as they arrive and care for children when parents leave. You will thrive in this volunteer role if you have a high level of comfort with babies and toddlers.

Age: 16+
Minimum Commitment Level: Once per month
Preschool & Elementary Leader
Overview: Kids Min leaders spend one service on Sunday morning responsible for a specific group of children. Some leaders teach large group and others lead discussion time or crafts. If you enjoy creating enthusiastic learning environments and forming relationships, this could be a great spot for you!

Preschool & Elementary Helper
Overview: Kids min helpers assist leaders with a variety of tasks. They may sit next to a wiggly child or encourage a child to do the actions to a song or find water to go with the snack. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy encouraging and meeting needs.

Buddy
Overview: A buddy is a friend who provides one-on-one attention for kids who need a little extra help. They provide care, assistance, and encouragement as needed with warmth, enthusiasm, and flexibility.

AWANA
Overview: AWANA is our Wednesday night program for elementary kids (6:30–8 PM). We always need volunteers with various levels of responsibility ranging from large group teaching to small group verse help. You will enjoy this role if can interact with kids in the evening with patience, warmth, and enthusiasm.

MUMS Childcare
Overview: MUMS childcare volunteers create a warm, safe, engaging environment for young children to enjoy while their moms are with other moms. You will thrive in this volunteer role if you love kids and their moms and find joy in serving them on Tuesday mornings.

Heartland Youth
Heartland Youth is a perfect blend of fun and discipleship! Our primary large group events are Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. We are always looking for volunteers who genuinely enjoy developing meaningful relationships with 7th-12th graders. All Heartland Youth volunteers must pass a background check, be approved by pastors, and regularly attend training. We also encourage all volunteers to prioritize attending Sunday morning service each week.
Small Group Leaders
Overview: Do you have a passion for discipling the next generation? Do you excel at developing deep relationships? Heartland Youth is always in need of a team of dedicated, mature believers to disciple teenagers by growing trust and speaking the truth of God in a small group setting.

Commitment Level: Weekly during the school year
Welcome & Prayer Team
Overview: Are you enthusiastic about teenagers gathering to learn about and worship God? Do you love to greet new people with energy and warmth? Are you an encourager? Walking into youth group can be intimidating for a host of reasons. These volunteers intentionally engage with the struggling, encourage the timid, and pray for the weak.

Youth Meals
Overview: Everyone comes to Youth Group on Wednesday evening HUNGRY! If you enjoy serving teens and volunteers by planning, prepping, serving, or cleaning up after a room full of hungry people, this is a great position for you!

Hospitality Team
Are you eager to engage with new attenders? Our hospitality team is a group of people gifted by God to create a warm and welcoming environment for the people attending events at Heartland. This team takes a posture of helpfulness, whatever the need.
Greeter
Overview: Greeters are the first person many new attenders meet! Greeters meet attenders at the door with a warm smile. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy meeting new people.

Usher
Overview: Ushers help welcome people into our large event spaces by assisting them in finding seats, especially when they are hard to find! They also collect the offering during the service.

Coffee Team
Overview: Our coffee bar volunteers make and serve coffee with a smile while creating opportunities for conversation. If you love helping people connect even more than you love a great cup of coffee, this team might be a good fit for you!

Connect Center
Overview: The Connect Center is the hub for information on Sunday mornings. Volunteers here enjoy helping people take their next step of engagement at Heartland. We desire a team who loves and cares for the people they serve, which may include deep conversations, finding the lost and found, or helping someone get signed up for a LifeGroup.

Women’s Ministry
Heartland desires to provide specific opportunities to reach the women in our community with the love of Christ. Women-specific ministry comes with unique challenges—most often childcare! If you feel called to serve the women of our community, here are a few practical ways you can volunteer.
MUMS Childcare Volunteer
Overview: MUMs mornings are busy at Heartland! Many moms attend MUMS with multiple young children in tow. MUMS childcare volunteers create a warm, safe, engaging environment for young children to enjoy while their moms are with other moms. You will thrive in this volunteer role if you love kids and their moms and find joy in serving them on Tuesday mornings.

Hospitality Team
Overview: Heartland Women’s Ministry hosts events of various sizes on a regular basis. These events often involve food, decorating, and other logistics. Do you find joy in planning and hosting events? If so, we’d love to have you as part of our team!

Worship & Tech
At Heartland, we desire to demonstrate a passion for God’s glory in our weekend services. This happens through singing, playing instruments, and using audio and visual tech. We are always open to those who have the same passion to join us. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16
Musicians
Overview: Our worship ministry seeks to serve the body of Christ at Heartland, to sing the truth of God’s word, to honor Him, and to help His Word dwell richly in us. Practically, this looks like using the gifts God has given us as tools for encouragement and edification.

Sound Production
Overview: Learning the truths of God’s Word is impossible if you can’t hear. The sound production team at Heartland strives to excel in sound production whether live or recording in order that all might hear.

Video Production
Overview: Heartland live-streams our 10:30 service every week. The video production team strives to excel in video production so that those who are not able to physically be with us are given the opportunity to worship God with us. They may also asked to help create special projects such as testimony videos.

Computer Graphics
Overview: We use ProPresenter to display song lyrics and other graphics on screens to encourage our people to worship God corporately. Graphics volunteers work behind the scenes to set up and run ProPresenter. You will enjoy this team if the tech is interesting to you and you prefer to serve behind the scenes.

Communications
We are growing a team of creative volunteers who want to use their skills for the glory of God!
Photography
Overview: This team aims to capture photos of events at Heartland in order to tell a story of who we are and the work God is doing in our church. You will thrive on this team if you care about the people at Heartland and enjoy telling their stories in a way that highlights our community.

Video Team
Overview: This team aims to capture video of all God is doing at Heartland in order to tell a story of who we are and the work God is doing in our church. Experience behind the camera is appreciated, but we would love to train anyone who simply has interest and enthusiasm in this area!

Social Media Team
Overview: This is a new role! We hope to form a small team of people who have an interest in improving and growing our social media output. Social media management experience would be appreciated but our Heartland Communications staff would love to train anyone who is excited to learn.

Events
Smooth events at Heartland require much coordination and behind-the-scenes work. If you find joy in creating welcoming space for people to connect and grow, this might be a good fit for you!
Meals
Overview: If you enjoy preparing and serving food, this is the role for you! We would love a team of people who are comfortable and happy in the kitchen to assist with various events. If you have experience in the food service industry, this would be especially appreciated.

Parking
Overview: Our parking team helps direct vehicles during large events. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy time outside and helping events run smoothly.

Overview: This team serves diligently behind the scenes. They intentionally go unnoticed to ensure the safety of our church and those who attend.

Communion Setup & Cleanup
Overview: We typically celebrate communion every first Sunday of the month. This team preps the grape juice and crackers to be served on Sunday morning and then cleans up after service. If you prefer to serve behind the scenes, this team might be a good fit for you!

Event Coordinator
Overview: Our facility hosts an array of events that require coordination with staff and the facility use schedule. An event coordinator will know Heartland’s building and policies well and provide guests with the needed resources to host a successful event.

Operations
A ton of behind-the-scenes work goes into making Heartland run efficiently on a regular basis. If the heater works in the winter or the chair you sit in doesn’t wobble, it is likely because someone has replaced a filter or tightened a bolt. We are growing a skilled and dedicated team of volunteers who enjoy serving the body of Christ by paying attention to these things!
Work Days
Overview: Heartland’s facility is large and requires regular upkeep. One of the ways to make this happen is through volunteer work days. If you are happiest weeding flower beds or replacing lightbulbs, this might be the team for you!

Maintenance
Overview: We are gathering a team of people who enjoy serving Heartland through solving practical, physical needs. We are looking for skilled volunteers who can accurately diagnose and solve small maintenance issues—and who let us know when we should hire a professional.
