Our Mission
The mission of Heartland Youth Ministry is to disciple and teach the youth of our community to find joy in Christ.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19–20
Welcome to Heartland Youth!
Heartland prioritizes our young people. We are committed to provide listening ears, caring hearts, encouragement, correction, and training from God’s Word to our students. We want to see all students walking with Jesus in the same way that the disciples did 2000 years ago. This is accomplished by both our adult volunteers and committed students mentoring and discipling others into a closer walk with Jesus.

Sunday Mornings
7th—9th grade students are invited to join us for classes on Sunday mornings during the 10:30 service. We enjoy the opportunity to engage with students through topical studies and adult led discussion times around the Word of God with their peers.
10th—12th grade students meet in the Fellowship Hall for student-led, panel discussions where they find answers in Scripture to the questions that they and their peers are facing. They also have the option of attending a Men’s or Women’s Sunday School class with a multigenerational group of people studying the Word of God together.
Wednesday Nights
Wednesday nights is Youth Group! The first thing you’ll notice if you join us on a Wednesday at 6:30 during the school year is the smell of food! We have an amazing team who prepare incredible meals for hungry teenagers every week. After the meal, we typically will sing worship songs, study God’s Word, and then break out into small groups for discussion and prayer. Students from many area schools and friend groups enjoy friendship as they encourage each other to walk with Christ.
Special Events
Heartland students have regular opportunities to enjoy special events and trips. Some recent examples are attending Challenge youth conference, mission trips, weekend retreats, ice skating day trips, and going skiing with students from other local EFCA churches. If you’re attending Youth Group on Wednesday nights, you’ll hear about any upcoming opportunities.

How do you choose volunteers?
Heartland Youth volunteers must be Christ-followers with a passion for engaging with students at a heart level. All adult volunteers must commit to regularly attending Heartland, clearing background checks, and attending and completing trainings.
Where can my student serve or volunteer?
Students are some of our best volunteers at Heartland! There are many different areas to serve. Please check out our Serve page and apply for a role that looks like it might fit you!
How can students learn more about baptism?
